The various AT Military HF whips antennas are designed to be used with an Automatic Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU), such as the AT T-1.
They are suitable for mounting on any horizontal, flat surface.
They can be supplied with any hole pattern base.
They are extremely rugged, and meet MIL-STD 810 and Australian Defence Standard DEF-STAN 00-35.
The standard version is 3 metres high, and designed for mobile operation. Extra elements are available as an option so that it can be transformed into a 6m whip for stationary use—a guy kit is included. The AT T-1 tuner should be used with this configuration.
A Near Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS) kit is included, for enhanced close-in operation.
Other variants are available in 2.4m and 3.0m lengths, with high-impact shock mounts or more cost-effective springs.
The shock mount variant can be flexed to 90° from the vertical with no damage caused to the base unit and whip antenna.
Carbon-fibre and aluminium elements are available.
